Complex of wooden mills at Lake Pliva
Jajce, Bosnia
This restored watermill complex is set in a narrows of Pliva Lake in central Bosnia. Each grain mill belonged to a family clan of the district for many generations. Wood frame buildings set on wooden piles are infilled with plank walls or interlocking plank walls and covered with plank roofing. Operable sluices direct water under each structure, activating horizontal paddle wheels.
