Landscape with Kulla

Domgjon (Zall-Xhuxhë area), Albania

Domgjon is a mountain village, within the muncipality of Fan, in the Fan River valley of the Mirditë district, Lezhë county. The enclave of Zall-Xhuxhë sits close to the base of the valley between Domgjon and Klos. The stone kulla (fortress tower dwelling) in this landscape, is typical of this mountainous region that continues northeast to Kosovo. The region over its history has been a battleground between neighbors and marauders.
