Farm Outbuilding (Ambar), Ulica Pazovčka 64
Golubinci, Vojvodina
Golubinci is a village in the Srem District of Vojvodina. In the development of Vojvodina for agriculture in the 18th and 19th centuries, the characteristic street walls were built with alternating dwellings and outbuildings. Gated openings allowed access to the farm courtyards beyond. The harvested grains and corn were placed in the upper stories of outbuildings and animals and poultry occupied the ground levels. The granary (ambar) and corn crib (kotobanja or koš) were important elements of the structures. Pattern designs were created for the wooden upper structures. (photo 1987)
