Staro Selo (Old Village) Museum
Sirogojno, Serbia
The open air museum in Sirogojno is located on Mount Zlatibor, and displays rural buildings collected from the Zlatibor (Golden Pine) region. These include a church, numerous dwellings, and various outbuildings (stables, granaries, corn cribs, cheese-aging structures, baking ovens, and portable sleeping huts). The buildings are principally of wood and date from the 19th century. One of the key leaders in the formation and execution of the museum was the architect Ranko Findrik. (photo 1987).
