Bošnjačka kuća, traditional Bosniak house (subdivided & altered)
Novi Pazar, Serbia
The mixed population of the Sandžak of Novi Pazar included a significant Bosniak contingent, and this symmetrical house was apparently built for such a Bosnian Muslim. The original dwelling was not divided, and would have been set in an enclosed courtyard, and the projecting bay over the entrance would have served as a garden overlook, at one end of a central hall.
