Smaller dwelling with porch
Vuča, Montenegro
This small, two-storey building may have provided sleeping quarters for younger couples in an extended farm family; the patron's main dwelling, of more finished construction, is beyond. An unfinished lath system covers the masonry ground level, and the upper level is built of horizontal wood members interlocked at the corners, with intersecting cross walls. The discarded mixed straw pile near the lower door suggests that a portion of the ground level serves as a stable.
