Wooden Dwelling Entry
Buševec, Croatia
This single level dwelling is simply raised above the ground to protect the oak sill and floor plates. The carved wooden railing and upper panels appear to be produced using technologies and machinery introduced in the late 19th century. Publications from the late 19th century illustrate a variety of decorative patterns available to enhance the dwellings, barns, and granaries in this and other regions controlled by the Austrian-Hungarian Empire.
