One can see that the dwelling has gone through a number of renovations over its life and additional extensions created. Original features likely include the open, covered walkway with extended roof for protection. Within, the kitchen of the dwelling is typically located behind the landing, thereby separating the shared living space from the sleeping area at the rear of the house. The kitchen's central location allows a single hearth to share its heat to the adjacent spaces. (photo 1988)
