Chapel of Sveti Nikolas
Jelićka, Bosnia
Jelićka is a small village in the Timar region of the Bosnia krajina near the Gomionica River. A chapel existed in Jelićka early in the 19th century but this structure was constructed later in the century. The chapel was dedicated to the festival honoring the translation of the relics of Sveti (saint) Nikolas. This chapel was constructed of dressed oak timbers with interlocking joinery and has gone through a number of restoration projects. The bell tower was added during the time of Austro-Hungarian rule of the area.
