Banesa e Hajdar Sejdinit (House of Hajdar Sejdin)
Çardak above entry
Elbasan, Albania
An open gallery, or çardak, is partially enclosed by a decorative arcade formed of timber posts and plaster-covered "falsework" consisting of wooden bolsters (abacuses) and spanning construction. The decorative horseshoe arches and curved bases bring the plaster openings down to the continuous wooden molding that passes above all doors and window openings within the çardak. A lattice design rail protects the edge.
